Summer Waves Pools, Filter Pumps and Cartridges

As of 2026-10-31, Amazon US lists Summer Waves products across the lineup: Quick Set, Elite and Active above-ground pools, a kiddie pool, filter pumps, filter cartridges and covers. Every one is sold by a third-party seller, and most show limited stock or a delivery lead time. The CPSC names Polygroup North America of El Paso, Texas, as the firm behind Summer Waves pools, and in July 2025 it announced a recall of some taller pools; details are below. I'm Dell Pruitt, and October is my favorite month to read a pool pump manual. Nobody's waiting on me to finish.

Summer Waves pool listings on Amazon US right now

Here's what the data shows on 2026-10-31.

None of these is sold by Amazon itself. Each listing has a third-party seller, and many show only a few left in stock or a delivery lead time of several days or more. A few large pools have a lead time instead of an in-stock date. That's the state of the shelf, not a reason we know of; we don't guess at one.

Some listings show PolyGroup in the brand field. Several titles name Polygroup, and some name Summer Escapes. A filter pump titled Funsicle SkimmerPlus carries the Summer Waves brand on its listing, so it appears here; Funsicle pools have their own page.

The table above shows every live listing, with a dash wherever the listing doesn't state a value.

Who makes Summer Waves pools

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission names Polygroup North America Inc. of El Paso, Texas, as the firm for Summer Waves above-ground pools. That comes from the CPSC's July 2025 recall notice, which also lists other Polygroup brand names, among them Summer Escapes, sold from 2006 to 2015, and Summer Waves, sold from 2015 to 2025.

That's why a search for a Summer Escapes pool or a Polygroup pool lands here. On Amazon US, those names show up in titles of Summer Waves listings, mostly on filter pumps and cartridges.

We don't add company history or claims about where the pools are made beyond what a source we can cite says.

The 2025 CPSC recall of above-ground pools 48 inches and taller

On July 21, 2025, the CPSC announced recall 25-393, covering about 5 million above-ground pools from Bestway, Intex and Polygroup. Summer Waves pools sold from 2015 to 2025 are among the Polygroup brands it names.

What the recall covers. Above-ground pools 48 inches and taller with compression straps that run on the outside of the vertical support legs. Pools whose straps run behind the legs are not part of it; the notice shows photos of both.

The hazard, as the CPSC states it. The strap on the outside of the legs can act as a foothold, so a child can climb into the pool even with the ladder removed. The CPSC says it believes nine children between 22 months and 3 years old drowned after using the strap as a foothold, in incidents from 2007 to 2022.

The remedy. A free repair kit from the firm: a rope that attaches to each vertical support pole at ground level and wraps around the pool. The notice says to secure the repair first, then cut and remove the compression strap. Until the repair is in place, keep children from getting to the pool unattended, or drain it.

What to do if you own one. Measure the wall height and look at where the strap runs. If it matches the notice, contact Polygroup for the kit. The CPSC notice lists Polygroup's recall phone number and website.

Of the pools in this page's table whose listing states a wall height, each states 30 or 36 inches. Check any pool you already own against the CPSC notice itself, not against this table.

Summer Waves above ground pools by style

All the pool sizes below are as the listings state them. On this site, a small above-ground pool means up to 12 ft across.

Quick Set inflatable-ring pools

A Quick Set pool has an inflatable top ring. You inflate the ring, fill the pool, and the ring rises with the water to hold the wall up. The listings in the table run from 10 ft to 15 ft:

The 15 ft solar cover listing states that it fits Quick Set ring pools. The 13 ft ring pool cover is sold for the same style.

Elite and other frame pools

A frame pool hangs its liner on a metal frame, so the wall doesn't depend on an inflated ring. The table has:

People also search for Summer Waves elite frame pool sizes the table doesn't have right now, such as 16 by 48 or 18 by 52. When a listing shows up in a size we track, it lands in the table.

The kiddie pool

The 5 ft by 15 in Quick Set kiddie pool is the smallest pool in the lineup. Kiddie pools need the same adult watching as any other pool.

Summer Waves pool pumps and filter systems

A filter pump does two jobs: it moves the water and it pushes it through a filter. On these pools, that filter is a paper cartridge inside the pump housing. The listings in the table state:

A SkimmerPlus, as the titles describe it, is a skimmer and a filter pump in one unit. A skimmer catches debris at the water's surface, where leaves and bugs float, before it sinks.

Choosing a Summer Waves pool pump replacement or upgrade

Read the plate first. The plate on your old pump, and the pool's manual, tell you what you need to match:

  1. Hose connection size. The SkimmerPlus 600 GPH title states a 1.25 in connection; the Funsicle SkimmerPlus 1000 GPH title states a 1.5 in fitting. A pump with a different connection size needs adapters; check the manual before you count on them.
  2. The pool size the pump is rated for. The pool's manual names the pump it was sold with.
  3. The cartridge type. The new pump decides which cartridge you buy from now on.
  4. GFCI. Several titles state a GFCI pump or plug. Either way, plug it only into a GFCI-protected outlet.

A bigger pump isn't automatically an upgrade. The pool's fittings and the pool maker's stated limits come first. Our guide on what size pool pump you need covers the turnover math.

Pool filter for a Summer Waves pool: the cartridge types

This is where most people end up on this page. The cartridges in the table come in these types:

Here's the thing. Cartridge types are not interchangeable just because two look about the same size on a screen. Read the type printed on your old cartridge or on the pump housing, and buy that type.

Ken's take: write the cartridge type on a strip of tape on the pump housing the day you set it up. By July nobody will remember, and the old cartridge will be the color of the pond.

Rinse and replace the cartridge on the schedule in the pump manual. Treat the water only as the chemical label says, and never mix pool chemicals.

What isn't listed right now

People also search for Summer Waves items we don't have in the table on 2026-10-31:

If any of those appears on Amazon US under the Summer Waves brand, it lands in the table. Until then, the pool filters, pool pumps and above-ground pools pages show the same fields across brands.

Before the pool goes up

Pool Safely, the CPSC's pool safety campaign, puts it plainly. Always watch children when they're in or near water, and never leave them unattended. Name one adult as the Water Watcher. Surround the pool with a fence at least four feet high on all sides, with a gate that closes and latches on its own. Keep children away from drains and suction outlets. Learn CPR.

For an above-ground pool, that also means the ladder comes out or locks when nobody's swimming, and nobody dives in.

The ground matters too. Every pool manual says how the site should be prepared and what can go under the liner; read that page before the box arrives. Our guides on how long above-ground pools last and draining an above-ground pool pick up from there.

How this page is built

Every Summer Waves listing we track on Amazon US is in the table, with the fields the listing states: size, wall height, water capacity, construction, filter type and what's included. A dash means the listing doesn't say. Listings for parts, motors, hoses and fittings, and listings without a seller, are left out.

We don't show prices. The "Check price" button opens the current Amazon US listing. The data updates about once a week, so the shelf on this page follows the shelf there.

Questions about Summer Waves

Who makes Summer Waves pools?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission names Polygroup North America Inc. of El Paso, Texas, as the firm for Summer Waves above-ground pools in its July 2025 recall notice. Several Amazon US listings show PolyGroup in the brand field or the title, and some titles name both Summer Escapes and Summer Waves.

Is my Summer Waves pool part of the 2025 recall?

The CPSC recall covers above-ground pools 48 inches and taller with compression straps that run on the outside of the vertical support legs; Summer Waves pools sold from 2015 to 2025 are among the brands named. Pools whose straps run behind the legs are not recalled. Check your pool's height and strap against the photos in the CPSC notice.

What's the difference between Summer Waves and Summer Escapes?

Both are Polygroup brand names. The CPSC's 2025 recall notice lists Summer Escapes pools sold from 2006 to 2015 and Summer Waves pools sold from 2015 to 2025. Some filter cartridges and pumps on Amazon US carry the Summer Escapes name in the title, and the brand field on those listings reads Summer Waves.

What filter does a Summer Waves pool use?

The one your filter pump's manual names. Summer Waves cartridges on Amazon US come in Type D, Type A/C and Type B; the Type D listings state 4.13 by 3.75 inches. Read the type off the old cartridge or the pump's label, and buy that type. A cartridge that's close in size isn't the same thing.

How long do Summer Waves pools last?

We don't have a figure for Summer Waves specifically, and the listings don't state a service life. How long any above-ground pool lasts depends on the ground under it, the water chemistry, how it's stored and the maker's care steps. Our guide on how long above-ground pools last goes through each one.

Where can I buy a Summer Waves pool?

On Amazon US, as of 2026-10-31, every Summer Waves listing we track is sold by a third-party seller, and many show only a few left or a shipping lead time. The table on this page shows what's live at our last check. We don't track other stores.
